Road closed after accident near Rogate

A motorcyclist and pillion passenger were seriously hurt after their bike was involved in a collision with a car near Rogate on Saturday, June 11.

The accident took place just past 6pm on the A272, to the west of Rogate and involved a Suzuki motorbike and a Toyota Avensis car.

The male rider, aged 26, and his 17-year-old female passenger were flown to Southampton Hospital by air ambulance. Sussex Police said they received serious but non life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old man, who was driving the Toyota, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital.

The road was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated by police.
