RESIDENTS at The Anchorage residential home in Pulborough were given a festive treat week when an award-winning school choir performed a Christmas carol concert for them.

The 53-strong choir from St Mary’s Church of England School in Pulborough – winners of last year’s Spirit FM Xmas Factor competition – sang a selection of Christmas favourites at the Coombelands Lane home.

It was the children’s last live performance before they record this year’s Xmas Factor competition entry and it proved to be one of the highlights of the year for the delighted residents.

Activities manager Liz Smith said: “It was wonderful to hear the children singing with such enthusiasm and our residents certainly enjoyed it immensely.”

St Mary’s School headteacher Alison Heath added: “The choir has gone from strength to strength and they just love performing in front of a live audience.”

The choir will head to the O2 Arena in March for the national ‘Young Voices’ concert.
