Midhurst town councillors want to hear from young skate boarders in a bid to provide new facilities.

Chairman of the town council Mark Purves told members of the public at the annual meeting on Thursday that the present skate park situated in Carron Lane, which was built several years ago, was reaching the end of its life.

“It is still very popular and used a considerable amount of the time,” he told the meeting, “and we are now looking at how we need to improve or replace it so that the facility is maintained for our young people.”

He said the town council had already been approached by a number of enthusiasts and he wanted to hear from anyone who had ideas on what sort of facilities needed to be provided.

“We are having that conversation with some of the young people and would like to hear from anyone who has ideas,” he said.

The issue is to be debated by members of the community care committee at its next meeting.

Town councillors are also looking at other play equipment in Carron Lane.
