Heavy snow over the South Downs this evening (Tuesday, January 22) is causing more misery.

Several accidents have been reported on the A285 between Chichester and Petworth were snow has caused hazardous driving conditions, and police are warning of problems on the B2146 at South Harting.

Areas around Cocking Hill and Duncton Hill are reported to be badly affected by the continuing snow falls, with many vehicles becoming stuck.

The B2141 South Harting road has been closed because of the snow this morning (January 23).

West Sussex police say the A29 at Bury Hill is also very icy and dangerous with traffic nearly at a standstill.

There are reports of very slow traffic on A285 between the A272 Pound Street junction in Petworth, as well as at the A27 junction in Tangmere, because of snow and ice.
