Something for everybody as MADhurst fever grips the town

But music rocked the rafters at The Wonderyears Rock Choir Concert in the Methodist Church and on Sunday Sophie Bosley’s Youth Zest Open Mic event filled the Memorial Hall.

As the ten-day festival got into full swing this week there has been a wealth of activities on offer from workshops to lunchtime and evening concerts in a variety of venues, a classical folk evening at the Walled Garden and a chance to go back in time at the Cowdray Ruins.

And still to come are a host of events leading up to the grand finale on bank holiday Monday.

With the new line up for Strictly Come Dancing 2016 announced and the live shows a matter of weeks away, why not join in the fun and put on your dancing shoes for an afternoon with ‘Cheek to Cheek’ at MADhurst on Sunday (August 28) at 3pm at the Memorial Hall when MADhurst will hold its annual tea dance.

There’s also still time to enjoy creative fun for all the family at one of the remaining workshops on this year’s MADhurst programme with jewellery making and furniture painting tomorrow from 10am.

There is a chance to experience Midhurst as you’ve never seen it on a walk with H G Wells or swing the night away with Milestone Collective Swing Band.

On Sunday at 11am there will be a MADhurst ecumenical service in the marquee at Cowdray Park led by The Rev Derek Welsman, The Rev Dave Willis and the Rev David Coote.

Grand Finale Day on bank holiday Monday starts with the carnival procession which promises to be bigger and bigger than ever and sets off at midday led by HG Wells, this year’s spectacular Big Make and Horndean Marching Band.

Fun continues at Cowdray Park where there will be a wide variety of musical entertainment on offer including performances from Midhurst School of Dance, the South Downs Ukulele Orchestra and Willie Austin.
