THERE were cops and robbers, disco dancing, an obstacle course and a shuttle run at Petworth Primary School.

They were all sponsored events which raised more than £1,800 for the NSPCC following a visit from Emily Bradbury, the school’s co-ordinator for the charity,

The youngest reception children, right up to the oldest in Year 6, took part in the sponsored activities at the end of term.

The headteacher, Gillian Standing, told the Observer: “I am incredibly proud of the effort put in by all the children and the generosity of their family and friends in raising the fantastic sum of £1,823.09 for this very worthwhile cause.”
