PARISHIONERS of St Peter’s Church, Terwick celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation with a special afternoon tea.
On the menu were sandwiches, scones, cup cakes and strawberries and cream.
Kay Howland entertained with songs from the 1950s and the Time Capsule reminded people of last year’s Jubilee, the torch relay through Rogate, Olympic and Paralymic games and the announcement there was to be a royal baby.
Songs of Praise followed giving thanks for the Queen’s long reign, and a full church ended with the National Anthem.
Katherine and Julian Irwin recited Blake’s Jerusalem and Mairi Rennie explained the poem and Parry’s music were written in West Sussex and the ‘mountains green’ were probably the South Downs.
