The Great Midhurst Girl Guides Bake-Off

Midhurst Girl Guides held their annual fundraising Great Guiding Bake Off this year with a World Thinking Day theme.

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Leaders entered their baked themed creations with each one having to make a different type of cake.

Rainbows were asked to create biscuits or cookies, Brownies a large decorated cake, Guides an international cake recipe and leaders had to produce cup cakes.

“The judges had a hard task giving marks for theme interpretation, presentation and taste before announcing the winners from each of the sections who won a £10 voucher. The leaders winning cake was voted for by the appreciative public and parents,” said Kirstin Bosley, Midhurst Rainbow unit leader.

“Everyone enjoyed sampling the wonderful baking afterwards with refreshments. Donations were taken and along with the raffle takings just over £100 was raised towards the upkeep of the Midhurst Headquarters.”

The winners from each section were Rainbow - Ruby Glue, Brownie - Hazel West and Guide - Emily Bosley.
