As the fourth music, art, dance and drama MADhurst festival drew to a close, organisers said they were jubilant with its success.
“It’s been a MADnificent ten days,” declared chairman John Barrett.
“We have had brilliant support and have sold out most of our ticketed events.
“We have also had several new events this year and these have also gone down a storm.”
Fellow MADhurst committee member Trina Duncan, who was also event manager for the grand finale of entertainment at the Midhurst Sports Association grounds on Bank Holiday Monday, added: “It really has been an amazing week. We’ve had terrific support and all the hard work has been worth it when you see all the people here (at the sports ground).
“We have been very lucky with the weather, but it has all been wonderful. We had a really family day of fun after the carnival procession and there was a terrific atmosphere.”
Events ranged from Gardener’s Question Time at Midhurst Rother College to Poetry, Pies and Pints at the Royal Oak pub in West Lavington.
Throughout the festival our photographers Louise Adams and Kate Shemilt together with Karen Bennett of Keeping Records Photography, the official MADhurst photographer, were out taking pictures.
