RESIDENTS of Petworth and the surrounding villages are being asked to help shape the future of the town.
Surveys are being delivered to all homes in Petworth and a sample of the surrounding villages in a bid to help create a ‘Petworth Town Centre Vision’.
And the aim of the project is to improve the long-term prosperity and sustainability of the town.
The survey asks what people like most about the town centre, their experience of using the town for shopping and accessing other services, how they would describe Petworth and what improvements they would like to see.
Businesses and traders are being asked about their experiences of operating in the town in a separate survey.
A third survey will be aimed specifically at visitors.
Chichester District Council is working with Petworth Town Council, Petworth Business Association and the South Downs National Park Authority on the plans and a Petworth Vision committee has been set up.
Cllr Myles Cullen, cabinet member for economy, tourism and car parks at Chichester District Council, told the Observer: “The feedback from residents is a key part of planning for the future of Petworth.
“I would encourage as many residents as possible to take part.
The survey can also be filled in on the council’s website at Chichester District Council website or for more information please call 01243 534623.
