THE members of the Rother Valley Together lunch and activity club are desperately seeking help.
A much-valued minibus driver recently retired and members living in rural areas are missing out on their days at the club.
RVT manager Petra Lynn said: “All our members look forward to their time here, seeing friends, joining in with the activities and enjoying a freshly cooked meal together, but unfortunately we have been unable to pick up some members, due to a lack of volunteer drivers.
“We are in urgent need of people who hold a driving licence with the D1 category.”
Anyone who passed their driving test before January 1, 1997, and is under 70 years of age should have this category on their licence.
If you can spare a couple of hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays between 9.30am-11.30am or 2.30pm-4.30pm, give Petra a call on 01730 816267 or pop in to see her at the Grange.
If you don’t feel you could commit to a weekly shift they also need relief drivers to cover holidays and sickness.
They would also like to hear from anyone who could help out in their own cars –mileage will be paid to these drivers.
