THE typical British summertime rain did not dampen the spirits at the Harting Horticultural Show held in South Harting on Saturday (August 17).
The rain poured as the show opened but those attending and exhibiting in the marquee at the War Memorial Playing Field still managed to ensure a great day was had by all.
Though the number of flower exhibits was down this year, the wonderful exhibits of fruit and vegetables made up for it. The marquee was full of colour and the exhibits and teas were enjoyed by the many visitors who went along throughout the afternoon.
This was the 66th annual show for the society.
See this week’s Midhurst and Petworth Observer (August 22) for all the results.
