A BOGNOR Regis teenager who drowned in a pool in a French ski resort had attended Chichester College.
Lucy Sallis, 19, had been working in the kitchen at La Belle Aurore hotel in Alpe d’Huez in south-eastern France.
It is believed Lucy was enjoying a night out with friends when the accident happened late on Tuesday (January 29) night.
Police say the group scaled a two-metre fence to gain access to the outdoor pool and Lucy became trapped under sheeting.
Lucy completed a one-year apprenticeship in cooking at Chichester College. She had not attended the college since 2011.
A college spokeswoman said: “She was a very good student and worked very hard. It’s really sad to hear about this and our thoughts and condolences go out to her family.”
A postmortem is due to be carried out at L’Institut Médico-Légal at La Tronche, near Grenoble, today (January 31).
Tributes to the teenager have already been paid on the social networking site Twitter.
