CHARITY riders made a pit-stop in Midhurst on a unique fundraising journey across the region.

The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, nicknamed The Tigers, retraced an historical parade route from Putney Heath to the south coast conducted by its forebear regiment the Tangier Regiment in 1661. The route took them through Midhurst on their way to Chichester, where they were welcomed at Little London car park by students from the Orchestra of Chichester University.

The event raised some £1,500 for the PWRR Benevolence Fund and more than 30 bikes took part along the 75-mile journey last Saturday from Putney.
