Two men treated in hospital after fight in Midhurst

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fight in West Street, Midhurst on Saturday night (August 2) left two people needing hospital treatment.

One man needed 26 stitches in his face after being injured in the fight.

Police were called to West Street just before midnight after reports of a fight involving a number of people.

A police spokesman said: “During the incident a 46-year old local man sustained facial injuries, and another local man, aged 25, also sustained a facial injury while leaving the Bricklayers Arms public house in the same street.”

Both were treated at St Richards Hospital, Chichester. The 25-year old had 26 stitches.

Police are investigating and no arrests have yet been made. Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened is asked to contact police via 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1916 of 2/8.
