UPDATE: Police appeal for East Ashling witnesses after woman found dead

A WOMAN who was found dead in her home in East Ashling yesterday was last seen alive at 12.30pm the previous day (January 27).

Police have said they want to hear from anyone who saw her or was in contact with her after that time.

Named locally as Debbie Levey, the 44-year-old victim was found yesterday morning by a colleague who had arrived to take her to work.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Pollard said: “We would also like to hear from anyone who was in the East Ashling area on Sunday afternoon or early evening and who saw a blue Vauxhall Vectra parked in a small lay-by just across the road from Cherry Tree Cottage. A 45-year old Selsey man, arrested yesterday evening (January 28) on suspicion of murder, is still in custody. He is known to the woman.

A post mortem is taking place today.
