VOLUNTEERS at Uppark were treated to a high tea of Pimms, sandwiches and scones as a ‘thank you’ for all the hard work they do for the house.
The 180 volunteers are vital to the work of the National Trust allowing it to conserve and open its properties across the country and Uppark is no different.
Operations Manager, Julia Barker, said: “The volunteers at Uppark do a variety of different roles. They help in the shop and gardens, sell raffle tickets, take garden tours and also room steward.
“Also, volunteers help behind the scenes with conservation cleaning, flower arranging and helping in the office.
“Volunteering gives people the opportunity to see a property from the inside as well as meet new friends, get free entry into National Trust properties and 20% off in the shops and restaurants.”
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer at Uppark should call 01730 825415 or visit the house.
