Upwaltham man becomes High Sheriff

DAVID Tupper, who farms at Upwaltham, near Petworth, is the new High Sheriff of West Sussex.

He made his Declaration of Office at Lewes Crown Court.

Mr Tupper was born and bred on the farm which he continues to run, with his son Edward, as a dairy and arable enterprise. He and his wife, Hilary, also have a daughter. He has been a deputy lieutenant for West Sussex since 2002.

He is chairman of the Friends of Petworth Cottage Nursing Home, and churchwarden and treasurer for Upwaltham church.
