Firefighters were called to Harting Hill last night (Wednesday, June 22) after receiving reports of a van on fire.

A crew from Midhurst fire station attended the blaze shortly after 11pm at South Harting on the B2141.

They found the van full of cabinets, was well alight.

Two firefighters used breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze. The crew used foam as well as water hose reels but they were unable to save the van which was destroyed.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the cause was accidental.
