Victory for Midhurst Chinese takeaway in hours dispute

A CHINESE restaurant owner in Midhurst has won her battle to keep the takeaway at her premises in Bepton Road open until 11pm.

Kate To wanted to bring the takeaway hours in line with the hours of opening of her Yenvinh restaurant.

Chichester District Council planning officers recommended the north area development control committee to allow the application because it would make it easier to enforce the hours of the businesses.

But Midhurst district councillors opposed the plan, citing disturbance to people living in the vicinity.

However Mrs To heard this week her appeal to a government planning inspector had been successful.
