A CHICHESTER College employee is now more than halfway through an epic cycling challenge in south-east Asia.

Speaking to the Observer before he left, Tom Walters described the punishing heat he and his cycling partner Morgan Carlton would have to endure as they cycle more than 2,000 miles from Vietnam to Singapore.

“It’s heat I’ve never felt before,” he said of the 42-43°C temperatures, not even taking into account the humidity.

Tom and his friend Morgan Calton, both 30, have suffered anxiety and depression in the past and are now looking to lead the way in encouraging others to throw off the shackle of mental health problems.

The pair are raising money for mental health charity Mind at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=mindovermatter2015
