A ROLLING Stones poster went under the hammer for £7,500 at an auction of pop icon memorabilia at John Nicholson’s, in Fernhurst.

A signed photo of the group sold for almost £3,000 and both items went to private buyers.

The showpiece of this vintage collection was the original poster advertising one of The Rolling Stones’ earliest concerts, when they were on the edge of super stardom and about to release their first hit single, C’mon.

The photograph was signed by all members of the band at the concert.
