The extended hours, which began in March, saw Uppark House open its doors to the public seven days a week.

In order to support the extended opening times, Uppark House are looking for new volunteers.

Volunteers are needed urgently for Fridays and Saturdays, with a recruitment morning scheduled for August 7 from 10am to noon.

Jenny Bennett, Volunteer Coordinator for Uppark House and Garden said: “To join us you don’t need to have historical qualifications – you just need to be keen to learn and enjoy working with the public.

“There is no upper age limit, you don’t have to be a National Trust member and you can work with us from just once a week or once a fortnight.”

For more information on the recruitment morning, contact jenny.bennett@nationaltrust.org.uk.
