A PRICKLY pal helped pick the winning ticket at Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital.

One of the Sidlesham centre’s hedgehog patients helped volunteer Brian Sharpe and Emma Pink to pick the winners of the charity’s prize draw.

After deducting costs and the prizes, the raffle made £3,100 for the centre, which can care for up to 300 birds and animals at any one time.

“This is an excellent result, and will be used to help with costs of food and medication for our patients,” said trustee Yvonne Fenter.

“We’re sorry that not everyone could win, but would like to thank everyone who took part and helped us raise these much-needed funds.”

The winners were: £500, Miss V Thompson, Bognor Regis; £100, Mr and Mrs N Hardcastle, Selsey; £50, Mrs J Rochford, Aldwick; £20 shopping vouchers, Ms T Wedge, Drayton, Mrs J Whitaker, Rowlands Castle, Mrs V Whittingham, Ashford; Ms K Richards, Eastleigh; and Mrs A Tisch, Portsmouth.
