Witness plea after fatal road crash in Lynchmere

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision in Lynchmere which happened sometime between Sunday night (20 October) and noon on Monday (21 October).

A green Peugeot 106 was travelling east on the B2131 Liphook Road at Hammer near Lynchmere, eight miles north of Midhurst, when it left the road. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Haslemere, Surrey, died from his injuries.

The vehicle was discovered off of the road by a passing motorist just before noon on Monday, and he alerted the emergency services.

The road was closed for six hours whilst investigation and recovery work took place.
