A YOUNG man with his sights set on a career in the film industry has taken a first step.

Max Rollason, 12, from Tillington, was selected from several thousand other child applicants for the role of the hero in a Lego Technics commercial which is scheduled for transmission later this year.

Filming took place in London studios and, after getting so involved in the action, Max came home even more enthusiastic about his career ambitions.

A pupil at Bohunt School, Liphook, he got his first taste of acting with the former Musical Theatre group in Petworth when he was about four. Since 2008, he has been a weekend student of Brett East’s Centre Stage Academy Theatre School based at Midhurst Rother College.

His mum, Nicola, said: “Centre Stage is great. He so enjoys it. When he went for the audition for the ad, we just thought it would be good practice and then he was chosen!”

Six-year-old Archie Elliott, also beat off competition for a role in new Asda promotions and TV commercials.
