Pruning too severe

I WONDER if other readers are as outraged as I have been by the way in which the flowering shrubs have been pruned in the Leisure Centre car park. Chichester District Council staff should know that shrubs are always pruned after flowering.

These were brutally pruned last week when many of the flowers had not even opened.

They were havens for bees and other insects as well as habitats for second-brood nests.

Although this car park is the only one where I have personally seen the newly-pruned shrubs, I am sure there are others in the town. Obviously CDC cannot now be considered a ‘green’ council.
