LOCATED IN the heart of the city – based at the Pallant Suite, South Pallant – is one of Chichester’s hidden gems.
I talk, of course, of Chichester Jazz Club.
A friendly, warm and hospitable welcome greets members and guests alike who come to listen to and enjoy some of the finest jazz on offer from today’s UK jazz scene.
And this year the club celebrates its 20th anniversary.
From humble beginnings in the early 1990s it now benefits from a loyal and enthusiastic membership with large audiences relishing the night-club-like atmosphere with great music in friendly surroundings.
The 15-gig yearly programme is packed with bands playing traditional, mainstream and modern jazz and if you want to give us a try this season there are still lots of great events to come.
Running such an enterprise takes a significant amount of effort and skill and we are always on the look-out for volunteers who would like to be part of our successful organisation.
In particular, right now we are working on strengthening our sound team and if there are any budding sound engineers out there we would be delighted to hear from you.
