I was under the impression we were in a conservation area

ADDING to the letter by Mr Hayton of Midhurst, apart from the proposed house-building on what is the Grange car park, not only does it knock out existing parking spots, new houses equals more people and more people equals more cars in a reduced area.

Add to that the nonsensical idea of 400-plus houses on the King Edward V11 site, which is going to generate still more cars, never mind parking spaces, road spaces won’t be enough either.

I was under the impression Midhurst was in a conservation area before it became the geographic centre of the South Downs National Park, two reasons for building restraint, so how come building permission is being granted so easily?
