LETTER: A27 common sense is needed

I feel sure that wherever you live and whoever you are each one will feel a pang of disappointment that the bypass improvement around Chichester has to be abandoned for the timebeing.

My sympathy is with the Minister of Transport since there has been too much discussion among too many

people instead of a descion being made by “strong” leaders of our councils.

Leaders have to show leadership using common sense along with expert advice.

Surely, it would have been preferable to have dealt with the bypass and road congestion prior to giving planning permission for

these large housing developments which all need access to the bypass and surrounding

B roads. Leadership and common sense is shown to be lacking here resulting in further congestion are lots of rat-runs developing on appalling road surfaces. So what solution have our leaders got for us now?
