LETTER: Land rejected for housing

Cala Homes is proposing to build on land south of the A259 and between Delling Lane and Walton Lane.

This is not land in Broadbridge, but in Bosham, land within the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) which has already been rejected for housing by the independent inspector.

Apart from the new hospice buildings (which are equivalent to about 50 houses) the parish council have now produced a plan for 50 houses at Highgrove which is due to be voted on next month by the residents of Bosham, in a referendum which is hopefully the final step in a long (about four year) process of presentations and consultations and referendi.

The local planning committee should have told Cala Homes that the proposed land was not available for housing and that we have already filled our quota for future housing (twice the requirements if one takes account of the new hospice buildings).

The proposed presentation should never have been allowed and should be cancelled immediately as we know that such building has already been banned.
