My husband was admitted to Ashling ward at St Richard’s Hospital early in December. He was there until the beginning of January after which he was transferred to Leslie Smith Ward at Bognor War Memorial Hospital for the following three months.
In both these wards he was treated by staff who respected his dignity and looked after him with care and compassion.
In Leslie Smith Ward at Bognor nothing seemed too much trouble, the staff were always smiling and helpful. On my visits there I was astounded by their patience and care towards some quite difficult patients. I was always kept informed of progress and included in their discussions for the best way forward for my husband.
After all we hear in the media about some nursing care, I can only praise these two wards of our local hospitals.
