Right to be upset

The residents of Parklands are rightly up in arms at the threat to this well-established and very important shopping parade from a possible conversion scheme for the Inn on the Green.

This parade caters for local needs including its superb butcher, hairdressing salon, small general store, newsagent, the essential post office and its present character and prosperity will be seriously jeopardised by the intrusion of a Co-op or similar medium-size convenience store.

With Tesco and other large stores not too far distant, the Parade needs all the support it can from local and other residents who enjoy visiting it for its special character.

Keep fighting for another suitable use for the pub which serves the local community, rather than greedy commercial interests.
