Traffic goes too fast

The tragedy on the B2178 Old Broyle Road on May 22 was not unexpected with the speed and increasing density of traffic.

The sharp bend just west of Brandy Hole Lane where the accident happened is not highlighted with any warning travelling in this direction and there are no speed restrictions.

Cars travel too fast which also causes a hazard when turning into the B2178 from Pine Grove, West Broyle Drive and Salthill Road.

The WSCC highways department should put into place a speed limit and more warning of a dangerous bend.

There have been several accidents between Centurion Way and Salthill Road and so far, nothing has been done to improve the safety of this road.
