Victim of Shoreham knife attack sentenced

A MAN stabbed while he assaulted another man at a bar in Shoreham has been told he has to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
Jamie Standing, 32, punched and kicked a man who "got in his way" at the now former Angel bar, in East Street, at 11pm on March 27.

He appeared at Chichester Crown Court on Thursday, November 12, charged with causing actual bodily harm.

As St
anding, of Eaton Road, Hove, assaulted the man, he was stabbed four times in the back with a nine-inch kitchen knife by Kostadin Strezov.

Strezov, 22, of Queen's Place, Shoreham, was sentenced at Chichester Crown Court on July 30, after pleading guilty to wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

He was jailed for 20 months for wounding with intent and given a 10-month sentence to run concurrently for possessing an offensive weapon.

Judge Claudia Ackner sentenced Standing, a heating engineer, to a 12-month community order, requiring him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay £500 compensation to the victim.
