AT THE end of the 2006-07 season, Midhurst & Eastbourne club held their annual presentation night at Cowdray Park Golf Club.
More than 70 members and guests were present and heard club chairman Allan Thompson welcome the guests and thank those who enabled the club to run as a force in Sussex football.

He thanked the secretary/treasurer Ted Dummer for his work as ground
sman with John Stringer; Stuart Burt for obtaining sponsorship and looking after the team kit, and to Peter Hill, Chris Till and Scott May for running the 200 Club.

Thanks were also extended to Gwen Glue for her work in running the matchday refreshment bar, and Paula Groves and Simon Dummer were thanked for running the bar on match days.

At the start of the season the club had welcomed Dave Kelly as their first-team manager with Malcolm Harwood his assistant. The first team ended the season in seventh place in an 18-team division.

After finishing second from bottom the previous season, the club were more than pleased with this outcome.

Mention was made that the first team won the Team of the Month award for December and that James Wills had won the leading goalscorer award for the season in Division 2.

While Kelly had propelled the firsts up their division, the second team had exceeded all expectations and special thanks must go to their team manager Stuart Groves, who had blended experience and youth in a side which had finished the season in second spot in the Sussex Reserve Section West.

John Harrison was thanked for his participation on the Pitsham Wood development group.

Thanks were also extended to Derek Curwood and Paul Dowdell for their work in many areas of the club's activities. James Glue was thanked for his weekly first-team match bulletin.

Awards were then presented as follows: Supporters' Player of the Season, James Wills; first XI Player of the Season, Tony Stephens; Second XI Player of the Season, Craig Cecil; Best Defender of the Season, Chris May; Most Improved Player, Josh Griffiths; Clubman of Season, Dave Kelly; 2nd XI Team Manager's Award, Lawrence Hyde.

BARNHAM Trojans held their presentation day at Aldingbourne Sports Centre.

All age groups from U-7 to U-18 took part in the inter-club six-a-side with this year's theme based on the Champions League.

One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the Charter Standard plaque and certificate by Sussex FA's Football Development Officer, Keveena Mosen.

Although Charter Standard was achieved last September, it was felt the one day in the year when all the teams are together was the appropriate time for the presentation.

If you are interested in playing for Barnham Trojans, several age groups are currently looking for new players. For more details contact Michelle Murphy on 01243 542934.
