Chichester Festival Theatre’s 50th anniversary celebrity cricket match puts the bails on its stumps this Sunday (July 22, 2pm) in Priory Park.
Spokeswoman Sarah Mansell said: “As Chichester Festival Theatre celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2012 it is easy to forget among all the triumphs, the great performances and the careers that took flight on that famous thrust stage, the exploits of the legendary CFT cricket team!.
“To commemorate the famous victories of the1980s, we are holding a charity cricket match at the city’s beautiful Priory Park ground, ringed by the Roman walls and in the shadow of the 13th century priory.
“Actors from the 2012 company will be joined by surprise guests to play the CFT cricket team. There will be stalls selling home produce, jewellery and accessories, a bottle tombola and childrens’ games as well as a bar.
“It promises to be a great day out, and the event will help raise money for RENEW, the CFT’s 50th anniversary capital project to radically improve the fabric and facilities of the Festival Theatre for the next 50 years.”
