Bosham picked up where they left off the previous week in securing a vital 1-0 win at the expense of title-chasing Newhaven in Sussex League division three.
The Dockers were shellshocked after Joe Hancock registered the only goal in the second half.
Early on, Lee Robinson and Gary Holmes engineered things for the Dockers with Darren Flynn alongside Kerry Mayo looking to profit up front.
Mayo was close to opening the red and whites’ account only for Simon Hasted to save the day.
For blue-shirted Bosham, Marco Giambelardini constantly made telling runs down the flank.
Without top scorer Kieran Hartley, opportunities would have be taken by the likes of Hancock and Graeme Dowden, and Dowden’s presence had the Dockers defence worried.
Newhaven keeper Graham Leach kept Bosham at bay but they came out for the second half looking even more eager.
Newhaven found Leon Smith and Ben Blanshard a real force at the back for the Robins. Tyler Goatcher and Robinson drew excellent saves from Hasted before Bosham went ahead.
Giambelardini swung over a corner from the right which missed everyone apart from Smith, who reacted well to be first to the loose ball. The defender hooked the ball back into the danger zone and Hancock stole in past a static defence to prod the ball past Leach.
Bosham manager Tony Hancock brought on late substitutes Josh Clayton, Callum Fewell and Adam Feast to replace tired legs and the Robins comfortably held on, handing Newhaven only their second defeat of the campaign.
Boss Hancock said: “It was a great result for the boys. Roll on next week!”
