Hero Ashley Harris toasted his magic moment in front of Pompey’s travelling army at Crawley.
The boyhood Blues fan came off the bench to provide the catalyst for an emphatic 3-0 win.
He arrived on the back post to head home a sublime cross from fellow Academy graduate Adam Webster.
Luke Rodgers then made it 2-0 before Harris set up Izale McLeod to add the third.
But it was the vital opener which gave the Blues the platform to seal a first League One victory of the season.
It also sparked wild scenes of celebration from the 1,634 Pompey fans who made the trip to the Broadfield Stadium.
And Harris shared in their delight.
He said: ‘It’s always a dream to be playing for your home club – the club you have supported from when you are young.
‘Scoring in front of the Pompey fans made it even better. It’s a great feeling.’
Harris has quickly made himself a fans’ favourite with his lively displays since making the breakthrough into the first team.
His next target is a maiden Fratton Park goal to send the famous stadium into raptures.
He added: ‘It’s good to get the supporters’ backing.
‘They give me that extra boost when I come on, or if I start.
‘Hopefully I can get a home goal, that’s what I am looking for as well now.’
