JACK WHATMOUGH has gone for a makeover after saying goodbye to his trademark blonde mop of hair.

And the home-grown defender now has the perfect fashion accessories to complement his new look.

Pompey have today revealed the home and away kits Paul Cook’s men will be wearing as they launch their bid for League Two promotion next season.

The Blues have gone for a classic-looking home shirt in their traditional royal blue, with a white away shirt echoing last season’s colours.

Whatmough was on hand to model the kit, as he continues to build his recovery from the cruciate knee injury picked up in March.

And the Gosport talent was also sporting a new look – after having his hair shorn recently.

Whatmough gave the new kits his seal of approval while explaining his new haircut has had a surprise impact.

He said: ‘I really like the kits. The away kit’s really nice and I like it that they’ve stuck with the collar on the home kit. It’s quite a retro kit, too.

‘I was always excited about new kits coming out when I was younger. I’m sure they’ll go down well next season with the supporters.

‘The hair had to go, too! I’ve been saying I was going to do it, but been too scared!

Now I can walk around town and no-one knows me!

‘I’ve had it for eight or nine years, but now I can walk around town and no-one knows me!’

The new kits are available to pre-order at pompeystore.com, with the Pompey club store launching the home kit on June 18. The third kit will be revealed on July 23.
