Pagham win at Chichester - and it’s joy on the road for Midhurst

Pagham strengthened their position in the top three in division one of the Sussex League with a 2-1 victory at Chichester.

Carl Stabler’s team are now 12 points ahead of City - and just three behind leaders Three Bridges, who crashed to a 5-2 defeat to Crawley Down.

Selsey had no game this weekend and remain tenth - just a point behind eighth-placed Chichester.

In division two, there was a rare away win for Midhurst, who won 2-0 at Clymping.

Lewis Hyde and Marcus Williams were the scorers, both in the second half.

Bosham’s bid for promotion from division three is faltering. They lost for the second week in a row, going down 2-0 at home to Rottingdean.

Sidlesham are out of the Division Three Cup after losing 3-0 at home to Saltdean.

Chichester and Pagham are both back in home action on Tuesday night. Chichester host Arundel while Pagham entertain Wick.

West Sussex League action included Lavant winning 2-1 at Hunston in the Centenary Cup.

Get the Observer - out on Thursday - for all the local football action, including a report and pictures from the Chichester-Pagham clash.
