Midhurst ended their Sussex League division two season with a pleasing 2-1 win against Westfield.
The men from Rotherfield have been playing with a variety of players because of injuries, work commitments and disciplinary offences.
For this final game the team was a strong one and the display was very satisfying.
Sam Willett put the visitors into an early lead but Gary Norgate drew Midhurst level and Lawrence Hyde scored a late winner.
Midhurst ended fourth from bottom with 28 points from the 32 games.
Midhurst’s reserves have had a difficult season and ended bottom of the table. However they finished their campaign by defeating Storrington reserves 8-3.
Midhurst cannot be sure which league or division they will be playing in next season because the FA nationally are making adjustments to the present set-up - so everyone at Rotherfield will have to wait and see.
