MIDHURST’S fine form in division two of the Sussex League continued with a 2-1 victory at Seaford, where they were in the driving seat for most of the game.
It was a third win in four under new manager Gary Block, whose county league experience is having a positive effect at Rotherfield.
They had the perfect start when, after just seven minutes, Michael Asare headed past Sheldon Levett in the Seaford goal after being set up by Gary Norgate.
The referee needed to have words with players from both sides as the action became heated, but no cards were shown.
On 27 minutes James Glue set up Lewis Hamilton to put Midhurst two up.
Harry Mills replaced injured Ben Dartnell for the home side.
In the second half, Seaford looked sharper but they could not turn this into goals until five minutes from the end, when Tom Porter reduced the deficit.
The Stags held on for a third successive victory which leaves Block’s team a healthy seventh in the table.
