Tom Dubber, 23, from Southsea gives his take on Pompey’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Accrington on Saturday

Safely into the third round of the FA Cup then.

Yes, it was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests, but the cup is all about the result and we move on.

I thought it was a really good game against an Accrington side which have been one of the better ones to come to Fratton Park this season.

They don’t park the bus and play it out from the back, although they were difficult playing conditions.

It panned out into a proper cup match with full-blooded challenges, particularly in the second half, and boots going in where it hurts.

And we deserved the win.

Your man of the match?

Marc McNulty was sensational, I just hope we can hang onto him for the rest of the season. He is a really, really important player for us.

He has a touch of quality, better than anything we have had up front over a fair few years and can create something out of nothing with his pace.

McNulty is also good with his back to goal, has a good touch and awareness and Accrington couldn’t handle him at all.

We all know Matt Tubbs has great movement inside the 18-yard box and can finish, but McNulty’s movement over a wider area is a class above.

I also thought Enda Stevens stood out, he gets up and down the line really well, while I really like Kyle Bennett.

Is it right your dad, Graham, was causing trouble in the South stand?

Well sort of – the bloke behind him took exception to the way he celebrated Adam McGurk’s goal!

My dad jumped up and cheered like everyone else when that went in, but the man behind was shouting for him to sit down as he couldn’t see.

He said ‘You’re not in the Fratton end now’ – but we don’t sit in the Fratton end! It was really odd.

I think he later complained to a steward about a young lad kicking the back of his seat!

So who would you like in the next round?

I’d like to go somewhere for a pay day, such as Old Trafford or the Emirates, then we have money in the bank.

As romantic as it sounds, a tie at Eastleigh would be a banana skin to avoid, even if the Southampton connection would make it interesting.

I definitely don’t want Southampton, it’s an awful lot of hassle for an awful lot of people! Derby games take a lot out of you.

There is an undeniable gulf in class between the teams and while we may beat them at Fratton Park they will probably defeat us nine times out of 10.

Let someone else knock them out!
