POMPEY face Plymouth on Saturday in their biggest game of the season.

In front of a packed house at Fratton Park, Paul Cook’s men will be looking to leapfrog their visitors and boost automatic promotion hopes.

Here are the five most recent meetings between the clubs.

August, 15 2015 – Plymouth 1 Pompey 2

Penalties from Matt Tubbs and Gary Roberts secured the points as Paul Cook recorded three wins in his opening three games as Pompey manager.

Tubbs scored his first of the season in first-half stoppage time after Enda Stevens was brought down.

Roberts doubled the lead late on, before Gregg Wylde’s consolation goal.

April 6, 2015 – Pompey 2 Plymouth 1

Jed Wallace and Ryan Taylor saw Pompey run out winners against the Pilgrims.

Wallace curled a left-foot shot into the far corner at the start of the second-half.

Taylor then registered with a powerful header, before Olly Lee pulled one back two minutes later.

Argyle captain Curtis Nelson was sent off in injury time.

November 15, 2014 – Plymouth 3 Pompey 0

Pompey were outclassed as Argyle ran out comfortable winners at Home Park.

Reuben Reid (two) and Lewis Alessandra ensured the hosts raced into a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes.

The Pilgrims also struck the woodwork twice in the second-half.

May 3, 2014 – Pompey 3 Plymouth 3

Danny Hollands grabbed a hat-trick, but still Andy Awford’s Pompey couldn’t win.

The hosts took the lead three times through the loanee from Charlton, only to be pegged back on each occasion.

Conor Hourihane had the final say with an equaliser two minutes from time in the final match of the 2013-14 campaign.

October 12, 2013 – Plymouth 1 Pompey 1

Jed Wallace earned Pompey a point with a well-taken finish in a tight game in Devon.

Argyle took the lead when Conor Hourihane pounced on an error from Yassin Moutaouakil to finish from a tight angle.

But with six minutes left in the first-half, Wallace curled home from the edge of the area as both teams remained firmly below mid-table.
