The leading jockey at Glorious Goodwood will receive a lifetime subscription to Racing UK, a £1,000 donation to the charity of his or her choice and a deluxe Goodwood hamper.
As leading rider from last year’s meeting, Richard Hughes, 5/2 favourite to tetain the crown, will wear the Racing UK blue armband for the opening race on Tuesday, the bet365-sponsored one mile and a quarter handicap.
Racing UK’s Marketing Director Clive Cottrell said: “Racing UK is delighted to sponsor the Glorious Goodwood Leading Jockey award for the third year running. We have been a long-standing supporter of the jockeys, primarily through our sponsorship of riders and our continued close association with the PJA and we’re always keen to get involved with the sport’s real ambassadors.”
Ryan Moore and William Buick are the 3-1 joint-second favourites to pick up the Racing UK-sponsored award behimd market leader Hughes.
“Richard Hughes, Ryan Moore and William Buick are leading the way this season, and we expect that to be the case at Glorious Goodwood next week, although the excellent record of the Richard Hannon team at the meeting ensures that Hughes shades favouritism for the Racing UK Top Jockey Award,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Hughes is already Goodwood’s top jockey for the season - with four wins to his name from seven meetings so far.
