FONTWELL PARK jumps back into action today (Thursday) with one of its biggest fixtures of the year.

Thousands are expected at the track’s Ladies’ Evening, which will see a six-race jumps card followed by live music from a Robbie Williams tribute act.

General manager Tracey Skinner said the Fontwell team couldn’t wait to get racing again after a two-month break since their last meeting.

“We’re really looking forward to it and there’s been huge interest in Ladies’ Evening,” she said.

“The weather forecast looks good and we’ve been doing a lot of work around the racecourse which we hope people will notice.

“We’ve invested in the bars and food outlets and have refurbished the Comedu of Errors grandstand. We’ve also been recruiting so there’ll be some new faces around the place helping things run smoothly.”

As usual, there’s a big prize up for grabs for the lady voted the best-dressed at tonight’s event. She will walk off with a £1,000 shopping experience at Cascades in Portsmouth.

Racing begins at 5.30pm with the SES Autoparts Novices´ Hurdle and continues until 8pm, when the Cascades Shopping Centre Handicap Hurdle brings down the curtain on the action on the track.

After that, Robbing Williams takes to the stage behind the grandstands.

The Premier Enclosure and Premier Restaurant are sold out but tickets are still available for the Paddock Enclosure. Admission is £15 on the night - call 01243 543335 for details.
