BOGNOR Regis’ Chloe Court and Heather Tidy were crowned champions of the prestigious County Scratch Foursomes at the Nevill Golf Club last week.

In the first prestigious ladies county golf event of the season, 25 ladies competed in the event.

The Bognor duo fought their way through three rounds, beating Lewes, Cowdray Park and West Sussex on Wednesday and Thursday, before reaching the semi-finals on Friday morning where they faced last year’s winners, Pyecombe.

In perfect conditions, the standard of golf was excellent, and Bognor emerged the victors by 5&4. In final they encountered Highwoods and, after a very tight match, they eventually won on the 16th green at one-under par.

Court, having just returned from a four-year baby sabbatical, said: “I’m delighted to have won, it’s reassuring that I can still perform under pressure, and I’m looking forward to playing more club golf this year.”
