Nathaniel Spreckley (Chi High School sixth form) and his sister Emogen Spreckley (CHSG) from Chichester Ronin Judo Club

took part in the Sussex trials judo competition in Worthing.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment and this achievement.

Emogen achieved gold in the junior under-70kg and Nathaniel took bronze in the seniors’ under-66kg competition.

Both have now qualified for the Sussex squad, along with their club-mate Oscar De Lacy (pictured in the centre) and will be training with them every month in Crawley, as well as at their permanent dojo at Chichester’s New Park Centre.

They will hopefully go on to represent the county later this month if selected for the inter-counties championship.

Club chairman Trevor Mossop said: “We are incredibly proud of their commitment and this achievement.”
