Plans under way for Chichester’s next major boxing show

CHICHESTER’S annual black-tie boxing dinner show will take place at Chichester College on Saturday, January 25.

The event is staged annually through St Gerards Boxing Club joining forces with the Rotary Club of Chichester Priory. It’s an evening when exciting young boxing talent is showcased and serious funds are raised for good local causes.

Tickets are £50, which includes a three-course meal and a programme. You can sponsor a contest for £100 and this will guarantee you a table close to the ring.

Adverts in the official programme are £100 for a whole page and £75 for half a page. There will also be a raffle with many great prizes and an auction with many stunning items, all supporting the many groups and clubs that benefit from the night’s success.

There will be between ten and 12 contests, with two juniors, one female contest and two special open-class contests.

The line-up will have include an international theme for this, its third appearance on the local calendar, with boxers travelling from Scotland.

As anyone knows who has had the pleasure of attending the event, all the contests will be well-matched and offer great value for money.

Anyone interested in buying tickets, sponsoring a contest or having an advertisement in the official programme should contact Ray Richardson of the Rotary club on 01243 543701.

St Gerards and the Rotary club look forward to seeing all their regular supporters and any new potential sponsors on the night.

The boxing club are always looking for potential sponsors. They meet on Tuesday and Thursdays between 6pm and 8pm at the Swanfield Community Centre, Swanfield Drive, and anyone is free to go and see how they are helping keep anti-social behaviour off the streets through amateur boxing.
